Methods for Reducing the Effects of Background Autofluorescence Using IVIS

چکیده
Introduction The ability to track fluorescent proteins, dyes, quantum dots, and other fluorescent reporters in vivo is a rapidly growing technology known as molecular imaging. The IVIS Imaging Systems developed at Xenogen are optimized for imaging both bioluminescent and fluorescent reporters in vivo. Fluorescence equipment is standard on the IVIS Imaging System 200 Series while the IVIS Imaging System 100 or 50 Series is available with the XFO-12 Fluorescence Option. Table 1 summarizes the standard four fluorescent filter sets raging from the green to the near infrared (NIR).

In vivo imaging system for explants analysis—A new approach for assessment of cell transplantation effects in large animal models
INTRODUCTION Despite spectacular progress in cellular transplantology, there are still many concerns about the fate of transplanted cells. More preclinical studies are needed, especially on large animal models, to bridge the translational gap between basic research and the clinic. Herein, we propose a novel approach in analysis of cell transplantation effects in large animals explants using in ...
متن کاملReducing cellular autofluorescence in flow cytometry: an in situ method.
Cellular autofluorescence affects the sensitivity of flow cytometric assays by interfering with detection of low level specific fluorescence. These detection limits increase with use of protocols, such as thermocycling and fluorescent in-situ hybridization (FISH), that can increase intrinsic cellular fluorescence to 5,000-20,000 fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) equivalents. In order to improve...
متن کاملAn improved and cost-effective methodology for the reduction of autofluorescence in direct immunofluorescence studies on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues.
Interference by autofluorescence is one of the major shortcomes of immunofluorescence analysis by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). CLSM requires minimal tissue autofluorescence and reduced unspecific fluorescence background, requisites that become more critical when direct immunofluorescence studies are concerned. To control autofluorescence, different reagents and treatments can be u...

Background: Cyclosporine A (CsA) is a powerful immunosuppressive agent, which is used for the prevention of allograft rejection and for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Many transplant recipients must take this medicine for the rest of their lives. Females in reproductive age group on prolonged CsA therapy have legitimate concerns about drug effects on pregnancy. Objective: To explore Cs...
متن کاملGreen Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Mentha aquatic L Extract as the Reducing Agent
Background: Developing effective methods for the synthesis of bio-compatible and non-toxic nanoparticles is the main goal of nanotechnology. In the most chemical methods, a chemical reducing agent is used to reduce metal ions. But, in chemical methods, the stability of nanoparticles is controversial and synthesis in large sizes is much more difficult. Moreover, there is an incr...
